A small taste on what to expect October 2026

The recent Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) Retreat went beyond meetings and planning sessions. While the retreat itself was organized by CANOC, Curaçao played a meaningful role in demonstrating how sport naturally becomes a bridge for cultural exchange.

Throughout the retreat, members of the CANOC family were given a genuine taste of Curaçao our culture, our people, and our way of life. Through shared meals, local traditions, and moments of cultural expression, sport became the common language that connected different nations while celebrating their uniqueness. These interactions reminded us that sport is not only about competition, but also about understanding, respect, and shared Caribbean identity.

As we move forward and prepare for the upcoming CANOC Assembly, the retreat served as a powerful example of how cultural experiences strengthen collaboration within sport. By welcoming our regional partners into Curaçao’s cultural space, we reinforced unity, trust, and the values that guide the Olympic movement across the Caribbean.

Sport, in this context, became more than preparation it became exchange, connection, and community.
